Just around 10 days to go and Aamir Khan is not yet out full throttle for the promotion of TALAASH. While the man has been known for being a marketing and promotion genius as far as release of his films, whether as an actor or as a producer is concerned, it has been rather uncharacteristic of Aamir to be relatively quieter as far as his upcoming suspense drama is concerned.
"Leave aside his big ticket films like 3 IDIOTS and GHAJINI where he went all out to reach out to his audience weeks in advance with some innovative campaigns; he has been quite vociferous for his productions as well. He delayed DELHI BELLY by a year but made sure that it had a super hit written all over it on its release. No one would have expected a non-starcast satire like PEEPLI [LIVE] to even make it to theatres but he ensured that the film got critical as well as commercial acclaim. Even for DHOBI GHAT, he carefully planned a strategy for the release and never allowed his superstar status to hog the limelight," says an expert.
However indications are that Aamir won't quite be aggressive for TALAASH and as expected, there is a strategy behind that as well. As per the makers, keeping promotion under check is the need of the hour since the film is a suspense drama. Hence, instead of exposing the film's leads too much and the slight possibility of certain elements from the plot being revealed, it has been consciously decided to keep everyone and everything under the wraps.
Says an insider, "In any case people would come and watch the film so why overdo the act? Not every film requires Aamir to go all out just by himself. Some films need to be nurtured and TALAASH is one of them.
