Actor Arjun Kapoor, who impressed one and all with his performance in Ishaqzaade, learnt the Bengali folk dance Purulia Chhao for his upcoming film Gunday.
Sources close the actor reveal that the film has a song sequence in which Arjun will be performing alongside professional dancers from West Bengal and that this is the first time that this art form will be seen in a Hindi film.
Purulia Chhao is a traditional tribal martial dance that has its regional roots in Purulia district in West Bengal. The form features mask-wearing dancers who perform energetic movements, including stunts, somersaults and acrobatics. Sources further added that Arjun practiced the dance for a few days to match the technique and energy of these dancers and that the song was shot at Yash Raj Studios.
The film, set in Kolkata, also stars Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra.
