Arjun Kapoor Has Not Read Chetan Bhagat's '2 States'

Actor Arjun Kapoor, who will be next seen playing the role of a Punjabi lad in the film adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's best-selling novel 2 States, recently revealed that he has not read the book as the director Abhishek Varman forbade him from doing so.

In an interview, while talking about the film and his character, when asked if he read the book to understand his character better, Arjun said that after he read the script, he asked Abhishek if he should read the book. However, Varman advised him to avoid reading the book as he did not want Arjun to get caught up in the book character and wanted him to bring something fresh to the table.

Directed by Dharma Productions, 2 States also stars Alia Bhatt and the film is slated to release on April 18 next year.
