Arjun Rampal was recently seen in HEROINE which was basically centered on Kareena Kapoor. Though he did have a fair presence in the film, he chose not to make much noise about his role. However, he is all set to do that and more for CHAKRAVYUH, a Prakash Jha film, where he would be seen as a lead protagonist. Still, while the film is being pitched as an entertainer, one wonders if it may get a tad serious considering the fact that it is based on the Naxal issue.
"Prakash Jha firmly believes that a film doesn't need to be preachy or aim at giving solutions. CHAKRAVYUH tells the issue the way it is. Beyond that it is entertaining film with just the backdrop being about Naxals. It tells us about why these people are like this, where is the system going wrong, how so many out there are stuck in a situation etc. etc. Prakash Jha is excellent when it comes to creating a realistic set-up with entertainment quotient as well and he has excelled once again here," reasons Arjun.
Is it due to this very 'entertainment quotient' that there is a love-making sequence of him and Esha Gupta included in the film as well?
"Well, it is just a moment between a husband and a wife and nothing more should be read into it," he adds, "Esha, who is playing a cop in the film, understands the dilemma that my character is going through. Love making only brings a humane side of the story, it isn't there for the purpose of titillating audience."
Come 24th October 2012 when the film releases all over and we would know it's relevance for sure.
