Bejoy Nambiar has a knack of making unconventional choices. If in his first directorial outing SHAITAN he chose almost rank newcomers as his principal protagonists with Rajeev Khandelwal as the most known face, he has gone ahead with assembled Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vikram and Vinay Virmani for DAVID. However the promise of surprising the audience remains.
"First things first, Neil is a revelation in the film. He is just something else in front of the camera and he is going to surprise a lot of people. In fact I am curious to see how people react to him. I have shown portions of the film to focus groups and the way people have responded to Neil is fantastic. He is a much under rated actor. All he needs is one big film of him to work and he would be at a different level altogether," says Bejoy.
Meanwhile there were also some other actors that Bejoy hand-picked in order to complete his ensemble cast.
"One of the finds of the film is Akarsh Khurana. He is the son of popular script writer Akash Khurana and himself is a well-known play writer. He is an absolute rockstar and is playing a very important part of the film," reveals Bejoy, "It wasn't easy though to rope him in and I had to really convince him to act in the film. He kept telling me to get someone else on board but I was sure he was the right guy. Then there are also Milind Soman and Neil Bhoopalam in the film."
DAVID releases all over on 1st February.
