For as long as we can remember, tuning options for the BMW M5 have been damn near limitless. Going under the knife on nearly every edge of the globe, tuners have managed to make it faster, meaner and occasionally better looking.
But what about something a little more in-house, but still sinister enough to quench your thirst for the dangerous? In comes the BMW M5 Nighthawk special edition- aka, a sports sedan built for Darth Vader himself.
On the outside, it’s plain to see where the M5 “Nighthawk” gets its name. A gloss black exterior gives way to a full persona ranging from a grille to headlight accents and wheels, all snapped together with a competition package which includes a sports exhaust, and an M Dynamic suspension.
Inside, things get a little more sophisticated with a two-tone red leather interior with carbon fiber accents and an individually numbered set of badges. Power comes from the aforementioned 4.4-liter V8, which propels the M5 to 60 mph in only 4.2 seconds, paired to a seven-speed M DCT transmission.
Unfortunately for us, we most likely won’t see the Nighthawk anywhere stateside as only ten of these special editions will ever be made for the Japanese market only, each at a price of ¥18,200,000 ($181,8000).
