Saif Ali Khan, who had been accused of assault around ten months back, when he had allegedly punched a NRI businessman following a dispute at a plush hotel, will soon have to appear in court, it seems. Sources claim that the Colaba police has filed a chargesheet against the actor at a magistrate's court on Thursday.
In the chargesheet, Saif and his two friends Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi, have been chargesheeted under section 325 (assault) of the Indian Penal Code. The police have also added the statements of 29 people in the chargesheet.
The incident took place in February when Saif, Kareena Kapoor and their friends were dining at a plush restaurant in South Mumbai, when they got in an altercation with a NRI businessman when the latter complained about the loud noises coming from the table occupied by Saif and his party. The heated conversation soon snowballed into a scuffle and Saif was accused of punching the NRI businessman, later identified as Iqbal Sharma.
