Tabloid reports suggest that producer Ramesh Taurani is very upset with Deepika Padukone after she walked out of 'Race 2' midway. Deepika had agreed to do the film after an initial delay, Deepika shot for the film for six days. According to the producer, Deepika just refused to do the film and did not even apologise for leaving him in the lurch.

Taurani told Mumbai Mirror, "I have been a part of the Hindi cinema industry for 25 years. I have made several blockbusters. I have worked with famous actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan and Kareena Kapoor. But I have never faced a situation like this before."

Deepika's close friends, however had a different story to tell, "Constant delays are the reason Deepika’s can’t do Race 2. When the first delay happened, she adjusted her dates and shot for two days. But then again, she was informed that the dates were being changed. She would have liked to do the film but she couldn’t accommodate the new set of dates. She has conveyed her apologies to Ramesh Taurani. She had liked the script but unfortunately is not being able to juggle her dates any longer."

While a few days ago mediavine was abuzz with reports that Katrina Kaif would be seen opposite Rajinikanth in his next project 'Kochadaiyaan', it has now surfaced that leggy lass Deepika Padukone has bagged the coveted role.
Earlier, the makers of the film were keen to sign Katrina as the main lead of the film, however yesterday Rajini's daughter Soundarya announced on Twitter that Deepika has been finalised as the flick's heroine.

"Guys. Deepika padukone confirmed to play appa's pair in Kochadaiyaan :) great to have you back with us @deepikapadukone :):) big hug (sic)," tweeted Soundarya.

Deepika was earlier supposed to star opposite the South superstar in historical drama Rana however, the film was kept on hold due to Rajinikanth's kidney ailment.

And now that Rajini is hale and hearty, he has started shooting for his daughter's Tamil flick. Written by K.S. Ravikumar, the film will feature Sneha, Aadhi, Shobana, Nassar and Jackie Shroff alongside Deepika and Rajini and is slated for an August 2012 release.
We wonder if Kochadaiyaan was the reason why Ms. Padukone walked out of Abbas-Mustan's Race 2.
