For someone who didn't mind getting married when many felt it was a professional hara-kiri to do so, especially due to his 'serial kisser' image, Emraan Hashmi feels that in a high profile profession like this, it requires good control over one's self to maintain sanity despite all the adulation, accolades and brickbats that may come from either direction at any time.
"Whether it is failure or success, it is all so high profile in this world of glamour. You are forever in public eye and again it depends on you whether you want it that way even after you come back home. I for sure don't want it that way because I cherish life away from my world of films as well," says Emraan who has just delivered yet another success in the form of JANNAT 2 and is staring at another potential hit in SHANGHAI that releases soon.
He adds, "Yes, things have changed but not for me as a person. It is a deliberate attempt on my part to stay away from stardom when I am not in front of the camera. I am not a star when the camera is not rolling and that's the reason why I am still as easy going as I was 7-8 years back."
Wish there were more of his ilk.
