In the season of love stories, the one that would hit the screens in the month of July is RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA. With the songs already turning out to be popular and a sustained promotion further resulting in some good awareness being built around the Girish Kumar and Shruti Hassan starrer, one looks forward to what Prabhudheva has to offer. For a filmmaker who has reveled in directing hardcore action films (WANTED, ROWDY RATHORE) before, this is his first stint with telling a romantic tale, as far as Bollywood is concerned.
"Well, the feedback so far is that Shruti and I are looking cute together, so I guess that should take care of the romantic part," chuckles Girish, son of Kumar Taurani, "A lot of that has to be credited to Prabhu sir though. This film is solely a director's medium and the way he has conceived the scenes between Shruti and I, it is just marvellous. He was in complete control over what he wanted us actors to do. He ended up creating the right kind of atmosphere that further ensured good chemistry with Shruti."
Happy with the way his director handled him during his debut acting affair, Girish is also glad that he had Shruti for company.
"Her experience in films down South has helped me in indirect ways at least," says Girish, "When your co-star gives you good cues, it only helps you perform better as an actor. She was pretty good at that and that was helpful too."
As for their 'jodi' turning out to be popular in days to come, Girish quips, "Well, 19th July is not far away. I would be waiting for everyone's verdict on this."
