Help the Ghostbusters’ ECTO-1 Get a Full Restoration

If you’re unfamiliar with any of the Ghostbusters films, we suggest you take to Netflix immediately. The iconic ’80s blockbuster made an impression on movie goers around the globe, and even today, still lives on on some die-hards fan sites.

One of those sites is GBFans.com, who are petitioning for the restoration of the iconic ECTO-1a ghotsbusting car. The ECTO-1a — as seen here (below) in its current state — was the 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance used in the second Ghostbusters installment. Now owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, it’s been left to the elements, and is well overdue for a full restoration.

The fans quote a “$4,800″ cost for the project (not including the cost of the car), and hope that Sony is willing to fork over the ride to make it silver-screen worthy yet again. So far, Sony hasn’t made any indication in doing so, but, these eager diehards have set up a petition, hoping to appeal to Sony in order to see the ride restored to new.
