Kalki has managed to impress once again in SHANGHAI as well and is currently working in some of the most interesting projects being made in Bollywood. With EK THI DAAYAN keeping her occupied now, doesn't she feel that this is the best time for an actress like her to be in Bollywood?
"I am not sure whether it is the best time or not but what I know for sure is that I am very happy in my space and what I am doing," says Kalki, "I am glad with the kind of work that is coming my way and the type of scripts that people are offering me."
She attributes this to patience and perseverance. "I have learnt that to get the best, you should be willing to wait. Period. There was a phase after DEV D when I did not do any work. I was not shooting for a film for full year and a half. Then even SHANGHAI was shot a year back and I have started facing the camera again only now. There have been gaps when I have just waited for the right role. That's the sacrifice you have to make if you want your kind of work. In my case, the wait has been worth it."
One can well expect that in this journey of hers, hubby Anurag Kashyap must be flattered as well to see his wife enjoying good roles, popularity and respect in the industry.
"He is very happy for me," says Kalki immediately, "Though he is very competitive and jokes that I have become more famous than him, I don't think I would ever manage to catch up with him. He has built his own space and made a mark. I can't compete with him."
