Even though Madhuri Dixit's YRF venture, AAJA NACHLE, may not have been an ideal comeback venture for the last super starni of Hindi cinema, yet she has been able to make her presence felt through countless ads and television shows, and not to forget the award functions. The craze for the actress remains high and her fans are eagerly awaiting her current venture, GULAB GANG.
Produced by Benaras Media Works, the home production of producer-director Anubhav Sinha (of TUM BIN, DUS and RA.ONE fame), the film is an action drama. At the recent shoot of the film in Navi Mumbai, members of the fourth estate witnessed a highly interesting action sequence. It was a battle of supremacy between two gang leaders, lead actress Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla who plays the antagonist in GULAB GANG, a role with negative shade. In the scene Madhuri was taking on Juhi's goons and fighting hard without caring for the blistering summer heat or dust. And due to technical glitches she had to give quite a few retakes as well, but there was not even a frown on her face.
Fight choreographer Kanishk Sharma goes ga-ga over Madhuri's dedication saying, "Madhuri is such a dedicated actress. Since she is a superb dancer, and so she is able to follow the difficult action steps very easily. Generally actresses use body double for such kind of action sequences but Madhuri opted to do the hard action (read, stunts!) herself."
Even Madhuri admits that this is the first time that she has performed so many action sequences after MRITYUDAND and ANJAAM, but unlike the former GULAB GANG is a hard core, 'dhamakedaar' action drama.
Well, GULAB GANG indeed seems to be a highly entertaining fare and it would be worth every penny to watch two beautiful and stupendous actresses like Madhuri and Juhi take on each other on - screen!
