MJ 'suffered from total sleep deprivation prior to death'

New York, June 22 (ANI): A Harvard sleep researcher has claimed that Michael Jackson was an insomniac suffering from total sleep deprivation when he died in 2009.

As Dr. Charles Czeisler testified at the wrongful death trial of concert promoter AEG Live on Friday, he said that the surgical anesthetic propofol that Dr. Conrad Murray gave Jackson on a nightly basis was putting the late singer into a drug-induced coma, the New York Post reported.

Jackson's mum Katherine is suing AEG Live, claiming it failed to properly investigate her son's personal doctor Murray and missed warning signs about his failing health.

On his second day on the stand, Czeisler, said that in the months before the King of Pop died four years ago, Murray had bought 4 and half gallons of propofol- which is "a stupendous amount."

The researcher said that Jackson was getting propofol every night for 60 days.

He also said that the symptoms that Jackson was exhibiting are consistent with the symptoms of someone suffering from total sleep deprivation for a long time. (ANI)
