Buoyed by the success of SPECIAL 26, filmmaker Neeraj Pandey now has some special plans in his sleeves. In the times when Indo-Pak relationships are going through a challenging phase again, Neeraj is planning to release his cross-country affair AMAN KI ASHA on Independence Day i.e.15th August.
"The idea is to obviously bring the two countries together with this unique love story," informs a source, "With Hindi films releasing regularly in Pakistan, timing of AMAN KI ASHA couldn't have been better."
Moreover, the cast too further does the trick, what with Ali Zafar and Yami Gautam hailing from Pakistan and India respectively.
"The film carries good depth to it and won't be one of those frivolous romcoms that are made in dozens. When you have a film with an inspiring title like this, addresses both the nations and arrives on a day as important as this, it is imperative that a tale goes beyond the ordinary," the source adds, "Neeraj has written the story himself."
The film would also mark the comeback of E. Niwas as a director five years after DE TAALI and MY NAME IS ANTHONY GONSALVES. Incidentally it would clash with Subhash Ghai's KAANCHI which had been announced for the same date months ago.
