South superstar Ram Charan Teja, who will be making his Bollywood debut with Apoorva Lakhia's Zanjeer, claims that it was his father Chiranjeevi, who convinced him to take up the project.
Teja revealed that he was not sure about whether he should take up the role, as the film was a remake of a blockbuster starring Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Teja was apprehensive about stepping into the stalwart's shoes. However, when Chiranjeevi got to know about his son's reluctance, he reportedly told him that a film should be rejected only if the script is bad and not because one is afraid to try something new. This encouraged Teja to give his nod for the project and the rest, as they say, is history.
Apart from Teja, Zanjeer also stars Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Mahie Gill, Atul Kulkarni and Prakash Raj.
