Ranbir Kapoor not disappointed by BARFI!'s National Award snub

By Rajesh Kumar Singh, Glamsham Editorial

Since Anurag Basu's much raved about film BARFI! starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ileena D'cruz swept away awards at almost all the Award functions and it was even sent as India's official entry to Oscars, it was well expected that BARFI! would make it to 60th National Awards, which were announced lately. However, to everyone's surprise there was no mention about the much praised film at the coveted awards.

While it was heard that Priyanka Chopra is not happy with BARFI missing out National Award, Ranbir Kapoor took it in a sporty spirit. Recently at the first trailer launch of YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, where Ranbir Kapoor was present, when asked if he was disappointed that he did not get the National Award for his performance in BARFI! he bravely said that he was not and it had gone to someone who probably deserved it more. He was happy that Irrfan Khan won the best actor Award. He is even happy that his film has been so much appreciated and liked by people and was selected as official Oscar entry of India even if it could not make it to the final list of nominations in the foreign language category of the coveted award.
