Rare colour photos of Beatles' 1964 US tour up for auction

London, Jan 7 (ANI): Rare colour transparencies of 'The Beatles', which were taken during their first tour of the US in 1964, are reportedly up for sale.

The 65 slides of unpublished colour photographs, which include many stage shots, including George Harrison with his red Rickenbacker guitar, which appeared in the film A Hard Day's Night, are said to have been taken by award-winning physicist Dr Robert "Bob" Beck, the BBC reported.

According to Ernie Sutton from the British Beatles Fan Club, these pictures show 'The Beatles' during their 1964 US tour, both on and off-stage.

He also added that the new photographs that emerge of The Beatles are always of interest to the fans, but with the majority of photographs from this tour in black and white, it is a pleasure to see colour photographs from that historic tour.

The pictures are said to go under the hammer on 22 March, 50 years to the day in 1963 when the band released their first album, 'Please Please Me.'

These snaps are to be sold along with the copyright and are estimated to fetch between 10,000 to 15,000 pounds. (ANI)
