Bhatts are a happy family. Even though MURDER 3, their last offering, left many asking for more, it appears that there is a sumptuous meal in the offering, what with their AASHIQUI 2 being offered as a full course meal. With the film's striking promos doing the trick, youngsters (Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor) promising honest characterisations and director Mohit Suri expected to bring a certain class to the proceedings, AASHIQUI 2 has pretty much peaked at the right time.
"What has worked most though is music doing the trick as well, courtesy 'Tum Hi Ho' which has managed an anthem status for itself. Now AASHIQUI 2 is expected to be a worthy successor to AASHIQUI," says a source attached to Vishesh Films.
For a production house which has always reveled in presenting one superb musical score after another, the kind of response that has come for the soundtrack of AASHIQUI 2 has been nothing less than mighty pleasing for the team.
"Yes, AASHQIUI 2 has a great musical score. It has tremendous depth and these youngsters (composers, lyricists, singers) have come up with outstanding numbers. What works most about these songs is that they come from silences. In fact I have never seen such kind of a response in the last 10 years since the release of RAAZ. The response to AASHIQUI 2 is a kind of Tsunami no less," says Mahesh Bhatt in his usual belligerent tone.
On a final note, he adds, "AASHIQUI 2 is now all set to usher a new kind of music, just as was the case with AASHIQUI more than 20 years ago."
