Revisiting Badrinath

The year 2013 was full of catastrophes in the "Devbhoomi", Uttarakhand. The floods that swept the lives and hopes of thousands of pilgrims and locals, especially in the Kedar valley left a deep impact on people. It is the divine blessings of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva that despite all the calamities, these holy shrines have been restored to their original condition.

Currently, with the efforts of the government and the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Shiva, roads have been restored. This is the best time to visit the holy place of Badrinath, where the roads were the main targets of the flood. The natural or divine calamity, whatever we call that dark July monsoon, caused great damage to the roads leading to Badrinath. However, the superb and appreciative efforts of the Border Roads Organization (BRO) have led to the rebuilding of the roads and bridges in a quick span of time, bravely fighting all the weather challenges. These steps were taken to open the gates of the pious place of Lord Vishnu for his devotees who come from different parts of the world.

This pious shrine is accessible to people only for 6 months according to the tradition and now the six months are ending for this year on 18th November, 2013. It is a great time to visit this place and thank the Lord for establishing peace and harmony. November is a great month with favourable conditions of the roads and good weather conditions. Since it will be cold and there will be snowfall there, it is best to carry your warm clothes and essential things.
