Sanjay Dutt, who was sentenced to 42 months in jail by the Supreme Court, has been granted 14 days furlough by the Yerawada Jail officials on ground of medical issues. The actor reached his residence in Mumbai today and told the media that he wants to spend some quality time with his family.
“I have been granted furlough and that is every prisoner's right. I'm a law-abiding citizen, I respect the law of the land and I respect the honourable courts of India. I request the media to let me spend the time that I have got peacefully with my family. I want to thank the media for their love, support and affection and I also want to thank my fans,” said the 53-year-old.
Sanjay was convicted under the Arms Act for possessing illegal weapons, in the 1993 bomb blast case.
