After seeing the huge positive response to Sanjay Dutt's look in Apoorva Lakhia's Zanjeer, the makers have now decided to make his role more substantial and increas its length. Dutt's role has been re-worked upon and the team is more then happy with the way the film is shaping up.
Dutt plays the iconic role of Sher Khan, which was essayed by Pran in Zanjeer (1973).
Sources reveal that after Dutt's negative character as 'Kaancha Cheena' in Agneepath, his new look as Sher Khan has attracted a lot of interest. Hence, the makers would be adding a song and few action sequences featuring him.
It is also learnt that the makers of the film went to meet veteran actor Pran, who is recuperating in the hospital, to inquire about his health & well being and during their conversation, the evergreen actor went on to say, "No one can play Sher Khan better than Sanju."
Confirming about the development, Apoorva Lakhia said "Yes! He has given us extended dates and we are going to shoot in February. We are very excited about the film. I am really happy to work with Sanju Sir again after Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007)."
Produced by Reliance Entertainment, Amit Mehra and Flying Turtle Films, Zanjeer is set to release this summer!
