London, Jan 27 (ANI): Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that he prefers to keep his ageing sheep on his Scottish farm because he cannot bear to send them to a slaughter.

The 70-year-old Beatles star, who turned vegetarian with his late wife Linda in 1975, asserted in an interview for Radio 4 that he lives on a sheep farm and shear the sheep, but they die of old age, the Daily Mail reported.

"But it can be embarrassing. People say, 'Look at the state of your sheep!' And I say, 'Yes, they're very old. There's only one alternative - to send them off to the knacker's yard'?' the 'Yesterday' star said. (ANI)
