London, Feb 6 (ANI): Helen Mirren has revealed that she dreamed of becoming the next Brigitte Bardot when she was a teenager.

The Oscar-winning star told Radio Times, that she never thought she would make it as an actress because of she considered herself to be "a fat, spotty girl," the Mirror reported.

"I do remember sitting on the seafront and imagining, hoping, dreaming, wishing, being absolutely sure a big producer would drive by, lean out of the window and say, 'Hey, what's your name? You're the one I've been looking for'," she said.

The 67-year-old actress said that even when she started as an actress, she felt she did not fit in.

She admitted that being married to Hollywood director Taylor Hackford helped her get the role as Alfred Hitchcock's wife in her latest movie. (ANI)
