Janhvi Kapoor who got rave reviews for her recent performance in the Netflix original Ghost Stories is ready to take on the world with her interesting line-up of films in the form of Roohi Afzana, Gunjan Saxena and Takht. The Dhadak actress recently in an interview with a leading magazine talked about how Bollywood needs to normalize female leads and also remembered her mother Sridevi & how she was seen back in her prime. She said,

”My mom was never considered a conventional heroine.”

Talking about the discrepancy between male-centric and female centric films, Janhvi said,

”We would never call WAR a male-centric movie just because it has two male stars.We need to normalize female protagonists so that it’s not a big deal anymore.”

The iconic National award winner and Padmashri awardee Sridevi, ruled the Hindi and south Indian film industry with successful films like ‘16 Vayathinile,’ ‘Moondram Pirai’, ‘Meendum Kokila’, ‘Solva Sawan’, ‘Mr. India’, ‘Sadma’, ‘Chandni’, ‘Nagina’, ‘Himmatwala’, ‘English Vinglish’ to name a few among several others. She was last seen in the film ‘Mom’ released in 2017 in which she played the protagonist.
Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018, in Dubai.
