Overnight beauty treatments for healthy skin

These home remedies work hard while you are sleeping so you can look great when you wake up.

For baby soft lips
Once you’re done with your brushing routine, exfoliate your lips with a lip scrub to remove dead skin. You can also apply a layer of Vaseline or lip balm and brush your lips with another clean toothbrush. Then apply a layer of almond oil to hydrate your lips and hit the sack.

Moisturise your feet
Our feet are the most abused part of our body, so show them some TLC at night. Slather on some heavy duty, moisturising cream all over your feet, concentrate on your heels and other areas that are especially dry. Cover up your feet with a pair of cotton socks to hold the moisture in so that your feet can absorb all the nourishing benefits. Do this often and dry, cracked skin will be a thing of the past.

Nail care
Our hands tend to be another neglected part of our body, especially our nails. Keep a bottle of your favourite essential oil or some shea butter on your nightstand. Apply on your cuticles soften the skin and on your nails to strengthen them. Your shiny, happy nails will thank you.

Pimples be gone
Struggling with pimples? Here’s a remedy that will help make them disappear. Use a cotton swab to dab some diluted tea tree oil on the pimples. Be sure to use pure tea tree oil. The oil has natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce the redness and inflammation, and prevent acne lesions.

Revive your skin
Aloe vera has a host of beauty benefits, including healing dry and flaky skin, fighting acne, banishing dark circles, reducing puffiness, and brightening skin. So make the most of this wonder gel by including it in your night-time routine. Mix some fresh aloe vera gel with almond oil or any face massage oil. Apply this mix onto your face and neck like a mask before going to bed. Leave it on overnight and wash off in the morning.

Banish those dark circles
The skin around the eyes is quite thin and sensitive. Issues or changes taking place underneath the skin show up quite visibly there. A night-time eye massage is a great way to tackle dark circles and puffiness. Take some extra virgin coconut oil and massage the oil around your eyes, going in clockwise and anti-clockwise motions. Do this for a few minutes every night before going to bed. Leave the oil on overnight and wash off in the morning. Coconut oil contains vitamin E, antioxidants, and other essential nutrients that repair skin cells and battle dryness. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and helps get rid of those bags under the eyes.

Smoking lashes
This home remedy is designed to make your lashes grow longer, thicker, and stronger. Take an empty mascara tube and clean it well. Fill it with castor oil. At night, use the mascara wand to apply castor oil to your lashes and eyebrows. If the wand is too much trouble, you can also use a clean Q-tip and dab the oil around your lash lines and on your eyebrows.
