If you're an adult over the age of 25 there's a good chance you've dabbled in the realm of TikTok we like to call CleanTok. It's the practical side of the video app that includes helpful cleaning hacks, transformation videos and non-sponsored products reviews from people who find it extremely satisfying to keep a clean home.
One of TikTok's latest viral finds is The Pink Stuff, an all-purpose "miracle" cleaning paste that helps remove tough stains and grime from almost anything and everything in your home.
SHOP IT: Amazon, $19 (originally $22)
What is it?
The Pink Stuff Miracle Paste All Purpose Cleaner is just one product from a line of Pink Stuff cleaning products by Stardrops, a U.K.-based company. The Miracle Paste is made from a vegetable oil-based formula that includes ingredients like quartz, baking soda, sodium silicate and soap that help the paste cut through tough stains and grease.
People have been using the Miracle Paste on everything from cookware and sneakers to floors and shower tiles. The endless possibilities for cleaning involve simply mixing the paste together (it can separate over time) and apply a blob of paste onto whatever needs a thorough clean. People have used either a damp sponge or microfibre cloth to gentle distribute the product in a circular motion before letting sit for a few minutes before wiping or rinsing clean.
What people are saying
TikTok videos of The Pink Stuff Miracle Paste have earned more than 120 million views and has earned more than 31,000 reviews on Amazon in the U.S. Although the product does help remove tough stains, it does have a grittiness to it — which means it might not be the best product to use on glass cooktops as it could leave small scratches.
"This stuff actually works really well but you have to spend a decent amount of time scrubbing. I know some of you are buying this because you saw it on TikTok but just an FYI if you want to clean a pot or a door handle or your stove top, you will be scrubbing for a good amount of time," one shopper warned. "Also this cleaner is an abrasive type cleaner which means it has pumice inside which will scratch surfaces so don’t use this on your car or any smooth surface because it’s like running sandpaper on it. Having said that this is a really good cleaner for its intended uses."
"A very effective cleaner. It's ever so slightly gritty so it cleans things up nicely," another said. "I cleaned my shower tiles and they came up sparkling, removed rust from chrome shower head with ease, cleaned microwave with it. It was also very good for cleaning an enamel bath - I really struggle finding gentle, non bleach cleaning products that actually make a difference in the bath tub."
If you're looking for a way to tackle tough stains or bring your cookware back to life, the Pink Stuff Miracle Paste might be for you. It does take a little elbow grease but the results and reviews speak for themselves and have earned the product a cult-following.
