Pooja Batra looks ravishing in latest photo with her in-laws and Nawab Shah is all heart. See pic
It was this month when Pooja Batra took her fans by surprise when she announced that she had married Nawab Shah in a secret ceremony on July 4. The couple was dating for a couple of months before tying the knot.
Pooja shared a photo from the wedding ceremony and captioned it, "My new family. With my beautiful sisters in Law and Niece (sic)." Nawab commented with several heart emoticons on the photo.
Pooja had confirmed the news of her wedding to Bombay Times saying, "Yes, we are married. Nawab and I exchanged vows in Delhi, with only our families in attendance. Our loved ones kept asking us why we were delaying it (the marriage). I was simply going with the flow, but then I realised that he is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with, and there is no point in delaying it any further. So, here we are. We had an Arya Samaj wedding."
In an interview with an entertainment website, Nawab opened up on how he asked Pooja to marry him.
"I proposed to her in front of my family. It wasn't planned at all and it just happened. It was overwhelming for the two of us. When you know he or she is the right person, you are excited and motivated to live life," the actor said.
He added, "I keep telling her that we have less time as we have to grow together and also have babies. We need to travel, we both love reading and writing, and as we say, 'Zindagi chotti hai' so why not do things that we like. So, that's how we happened and when you have zero doubts, things escalate pretty fast."
Nawab also revealed that their wedding was quite spontaneous. "It was a very simple and traditional wedding and our parents and a few of our close friends were invited. Delhi is home as my parents live there and her parents flew down to be with us as I said nothing was actually planned and we went with the flow. Everything just fit into the place and I feel that the stars came together to fix everything for us," he said.
Pooja, who has acted in films like Viraasat and Bhai, was earlier married to Los Angeles-based orthopedic surgeon Dr Sonu Ahluwalia in 2003. However the marriage ended and Pooja said that "it was the most gruelling, lonely and difficult phase of my life."
On the work front, Nawab was last seen on the big screen in Ali Abbas Zafar's Tiger Zinda Hai. Currently, he has Ashutosh Gowariker's Panipat and Prabhudheva's Dabangg 3 in his kitty.
