If you’ve ever wondered what it would feel like to grace the cover of a magazine, you’ll want to pick up the most recent issue of Elle Australia which eschewed the usual Photoshopped celebrities and instead features a reflective, mirror-like surface. The point is that you, dear reader, are the star of the show. The clever cover lines include a hashtag, #BeTheCover, and a dek that reads, “To Celebrate Our Epic Portrait What It Means To Be a Woman…This Issue, You’re The Star.” Aww…how’s that for some positive affirmation?
In explaining the issue, Deputy Editor Damien Woolnough said, “we feel the Elle covers are always quite diverse but I’m not going to pretend there weren’t nerves.” He also added that, “it’s incredibly important to look at new ways of engagement across all our media, a lot of people have been focusing on how they do that digitally and through social media.”
What’s better than your face on a cover to share with thousands of your nearest and dearest friends?
