15 Feb 2021: Prince Harry, Meghan Markle are expecting their second child
Britain's Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are expecting their second child, a spokesperson announced this Valentine's Day (February 14).
The couple also released a monochrome image of themselves under a tree, with both carrying big smiles and Markle seen with a baby bump.
They already have a one-year-old son, Archie.
Here are more details on this.
Details: 'Archie is going to be a big brother'
"We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother," the spokesperson said, referring to the couple's first child.
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child."
This news follows Markle's disclosure in the media in November last year that she had suffered a miscarriage earlier in July.
Details: 'Entire family delighted and wish them well'
Meanwhile, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said, "Her Majesty, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and the entire family are delighted and wish them well."
To recall, Harry and Markle had quit frontline royal duties in March last year and they now live in California.
Since leaving Britain, they have also launched several legal cases against news outlets alleging invasion of privacy.
Timeline: Prince Harry and Markle's relationship timeline
Prince Harry and Markle had first met on a blind date in July, 2016.
After their families approved, the couple announced their engagement on November 27, 2017.
They finally tied the knot on May 19, 2018 at Windsor Castle in England, with many high-profile guests in attendance and millions tuning in from across the globe.
Their son, Archie, was born on May 6, 2019.
Work: They have signed deals with Spotify and Netflix
Since moving to the US, Prince Harry and Markle have entered various contracts.
Last year, they launched a non-profit organization called Archewell.
They have started other ventures as well, including signing a deal with Spotify to produce podcasts telling "uplifting and entertaining stories."
They have also signed a major contract with the streaming giant Netflix aiming to produce a number of films and series.
