Priyanka Chopra is in full swing promoting her memoir, Unfinished, and while she does so she appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show, where she shared her opinions on religion, secularism and children being raised in different cultures and the impact they have on their lives. Oprah, who also read the actress’ memoir reminded her of her time in India, hence she went on to ask PeeCee about her spiritual energy and what her spiritual foundation was.
A promo revolving all this was shared online, the global star was heard mentioning about India having a number of religions, she shared spirituality being a massive part of the Indian culture. She said, “I think I did. In India, it is hard not to. You're right. With the swirling number of religions that we have, that live within the country as well. I grew up in a convent school. I was aware of Christianity. My dad used to sing in a mosque, I was aware of Islam. I grew up in a Hindu family, I was aware of that. Spirituality is such a large part of India that you really cannot ignore it.”
She also added how her late father Dr. Ashok Chopra taught her all religions will lead to one god. She adds, “I am a Hindu. I pray, I have a temple at my home, I do it as often as I can. But truly to me, I am a believer that a higher power does exist and I like to have faith in that.”
