Here’s actor Akshay Kumar’s completely non-political interview of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which he announced via social media that he was privileged to have done. On Tuesday night, the actor on Twitter declared that he had recorded a candid, informal and freewheeling chat with the PM which would give an insight into certain lesser known facts about him.

Akshay had tweeted on Monday that he was getting into an unknown and uncharted territory. While, fans and a few media platforms speculated that the actor was finally taking a political plunge with the current general elections as a BJP candidate, this rumour was soon squashed by Akshay himself. A source close to the actor later revealed that the “uncharted territory” that Akshay tweeted about was in fact this interview with Narendra Modi.

2. Varun, Sara’s ‘Coolie No 1’ Remake to Go on Floors in August

Sara Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan will co-star in a Coolie No 1 remake.

After bagging her first Filmfare award, Kedarnath actor Sara Ali Khan is all set to star in an official adaptation of the 1995 Govinda-starrer Coolie No 1, the makers announced on Wednesday. Sara will be seen opposite Kalank actor Varun Dhawan.

The film will be directed by Varun’s father David Dhawan, who also helmed the original film starring both Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead. The new Coolie No 1 will be produced by Vashu Bhagnani and will go on floors in August 2019.

In the first ever interview with a Bollywood actor, PM Narendra Modi talks about his life, his habit of cracking jokes, his love for mangoes and one of the most interesting aspects, his comments on Twinkle Khanna’s anger against him.

When Akshay Kumar brought up the fact that PM Modi is very active on social media, the PM answered, “I follow both you and Twinkleji on Twitter, and I believe that because of Twinkleji’s anger directed at me, your married life must be quite peaceful.”

PM Narendra Modi also said that he had met Twinkle Khanna’s grandfather. “Once, drought hit Gujarat. At that time, we were involved in social work and we would run a buttermilk camp. It was so popular that we started Chhachkendra! That was the time I met Twinkle’s grandfather”, he said.

4. Parineeti Chopra in Hindi Remake of ‘The Girl on the Train

Kesari actor Parineeti Chopra has been roped in for the official Hindi remake of the popular American psychological thriller The Girl on the Train. Parineeti will play the role of Emma Blunt in the film - an alcoholic divorcee who finds herself involved in the investigation of a missing person. The film will be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and produced by Reliance Entertainment.

The Girl on the Train itself is an adaptation of a 2015 bestselling novel of the same name written by Paul Hawkins. The untitled Hindi remake will be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, who has previously worked on films like Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Te3n and Michael. The film will be produced by Reliance Entertainment.

5. 66th National Film Awards Pushed Back Due to Lok Sabha Elections

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind confers National Film Award on music composer A. R. Rahman, during 65th National Film Awards.

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) on Wednesday announced that the 66th National Film Awards will be declared after the 2019 general elections. The statement was issued on their website. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) is the publicity arm of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The exact date for this year’s National Film Awards have not been announced yet.

The winners are decided by an independent jury consisting of eminent filmmakers and film personalities and are normally declared in April every year. However this year, they have been pushed back as "elections to the 17th Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assemblies of four states are underway and the awards also include one for the most film friendly state".
