1. ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ First Look: Salman Khan’s Diwali Gift for Fans
Salman Khan is ready to rock the year-end with Tiger Zinda Hai and shared the first look of his film as a Diwali gift for his fans. A sequel to Ek Tha Tiger, the poster of Tiger Zinda Hai shows a wounded Salman in a combative mood, complete with glowering eyes and a rifle. It’s accompanied by the tagline, “No one hunts like a wounded tiger”.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film also stars Katrina Kaif. Tiger Zinda Hai will hit the screens on 22 December.
2. Celebs Laud Aamir Khan’s Performance in ‘Secret Superstar’
Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is happy that superstar Aamir Khan has played a quirky character in a never-seen-before avatar in Secret Superstar, says actors should not be conscious about an image.
“I think actors shouldn’t have any image. He (or she) should be able to play any character. I am very happy that Aamir Khan played a character like this. Earlier, actors were image conscious but now things are changing and they are trying to experiment with their roles,” said Nawaz.
3. It’s True! Dhinchak Pooja to Enter the Bigg Boss House
Bigg Boss 11 is about to get a little more dhinchak than it is now, because there are two wildcard entries in the BB house. Oh yes! Salman Khan, the host of Bigg Boss 11,is gifting us and the Bigg Boss contestants Pooja Jain aka Dhinchak Pooja, and Priyank Sharma (who was the first contestant to be evicted from the BB 11 house) this Diwali.
Dhinchak Pooja, the singer of those oh-so-viral videos Dilon ka shooter... and Selfie maine leli aaj..., is expected to spice up the show. There was already a lot of speculation about Dhinchak Pooja entering Bigg Boss before the show began but as the season kicked off, there was no sign of her.
4. How Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Mersal’ Made It Just In Time for Diwali
It was a touch and go situation for Kollywood superstar Vijay’s Mersal, the 2017 Diwali release. Till last moment the release of the film was hanging fire, as it ran into trouble with the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), which had to give an NOC for its censor certification. The producers of the film had not got the necessary pre-shoot permission for using animals in the film.
Mersal (Astonished / Stunned) got censored on 6 October, with a UA certificate, but the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) refused to grant a certificate till they handed over the NOC from AWBI. Finally, the producers managed to get the NOC at the last moment after a week of dilly dallying.
5. Amazon’s Roy Price Resigns After Sexual Harassment Reports
In the aftermath of Harvey Weinstein’s alleged sexual harassment and assault of various women, reports were also circulating about Amazon’s programming chief, Roy Price. Price has now resigned, according to a company spokeswoman. He took a leave of absence last week and Albert Cheng, the studio's chief operating officer, remains interim head of the division.
Isa Hackett, executive producer of series such as Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle and the upcoming anthology series, Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, claimed that Price propositioned her in a cab at a promotional event once.
