Vicky Kaushal-starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike, which releases on 11 January, has got a thumbs up from PM Narendra Modi. The actor, who met the PM on 10 January as part of a Bollywood delegation, was elated to know that Modi has watched and liked the film based on the 2016 surgical strikes made by the Indian Army in POK.

2. After Hardik Pandya, Twitter Attacks Ranveer for ‘Sexist’ Remarks

Cricketer Hardik Pandya has been embroiled in controversy ever since his appearance on the latest episode of Koffee with Karan. Hardik even got flak from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for his allegedly misogynist statements on the show. Now, some internet sleuths have digged up an old clip of actor Ranveer Singh from an older season of Koffee with Karan, making what many are calling “sexist” remarks.

3. Deepika Padukone to Be Featured in Upcoming Children’s Book

Deepika Padukone has spread awareness about depression.

Deepika Padukone added another feather in her cap when in 2015 she shared publicly her battle with depression. It was a brave move for a star like Deepika to open up on the subject and it helped reduce the stigma around the illness. It particularly for that reasion that the actor has earned a place in an upcoming children's book, titled ‘The Dot That Went For A Walk’.

The book is written by Lakshmi Nambiar, Reema Gupta and Sarada Akkineni and tells the life stories of 51 accomplished Indian women. Apart from Deepika, the book also features Rani Laxmibai thus, Indira Gandhi and Kiran Bedi. The book aims to introducing young children to the concepts of women empowerment. ‘The Dot That Went For A Walk’ is illustrated by 51 artists from across India. Deepika’s chapter of the book has been illustrated by Ritu Bhattacharya.

4. Change of ‘Cheat India’ Title Is Illogical, Ridiculous: Emraan

Lack of time left the makers of Cheat India no choice but to agree to a new title Why Cheat India upon the censor board's suggestion. But the film's actor and producer Emraan Hashmi says it is "illogical" and "ridiculous".

Why Cheat India is about the education system. It marks Emraan's debut as a producer.

Asked what happened that the title had to be changed last minute, just days before its release, Emraan told IANS here: "CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) members found the title misleading. According to them, our film is showing India in negative light. But that's what it is...what we are showing is a mirror to the system...they should understand it."
