One of the legendary player in Indian Cricket History, Rahul Dravid also known as ‘The Wall’ is celebrating his 48 Birth Anniversary Today on 11th January 11, 2021. The Indian batsman is famous for his healthy defensive techniques, as he indeed gave a tough time to the bowlers.

Many times praised as the ‘the nightmare for bowlers’ in ODIs and Tests. The legend is also famous for laying many memorable innings for the side and rescuing it from challenging situations. On his birthday today let’s give a look at some of his records.

Dravid did not just have a stock of centuries for himself, but for the side and along with his partner at the other end. He has been involved in 88 100-run stands in his career while 20 of them came with Sachin Tendulkar.

One of the best batsmen at number 3 after Sir Don Bradman is no doubt Rahul Dravid. Dravid has scored 14,555 runs in 329 innings across all the formats at the number 3 position at an average of 48.03 including 35 centuries and 77 half-centuries.

Dravid has a phenomenal record in the field as well, as he holds the record of claiming the most number of catches in the Test cricket format. He has claimed 210 Test catches; as a fielder in world cricket and currently, none of the active players looks even close to break this record.

This record is quite obvious as said before; Dravid was famous for his vital defensive techniques which compelled him to play most number of deliveries in Test cricket. He has faced 31,258 deliveries; this record too seems to be out of reach for several active batsmen.

Dravid also has a unique record to his name, having spent the most time on the field. In his career he has spent 44,152 minutes on the field, across formats. This record too will be there on board for some period as the game is changing and players are not playing continuously in the playing XI.
