When Ranbir Kapoor Revealed He Wanted To Marry And Settle Down With Kids By Mid-20s; Director Friend Ayan Mukerji Changed His Mind

A lot of memories were refreshed as Ayan Mukerji’s directorial venture Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani completed 8 years of its release on May 31, 2021. During the trailer launch of this superhit movie, movie lead Ranbir Kapoor was heard saying that he wanted to get married and have children in his mid-20s. But it was after he met Ayan, his perspective towards life changed. The director advised him to live his life before he rushes into getting married.


Before he credited the filmmaker for changing his mind to adapting to a regular life, he said, “We are at times now where we should not give deadlines to marriage, age. When one falls in love, a wedding will happen, then children will happen. I think everything is natural progress.” Speaking about Ayan, the handsome actor said, “This is Ayan's teaching to me. When I got to know him four years back, I was in a hurry to get married. I said, 'I want to get married, I want to get married, I want to have children.”


On which Ayan had told him, “He would tell me, 'Relax, you're just starting out your career, meet people, live your life a bit then get married,” adds Ranbir. Unlike, Ranbir’s on screen character of Bunny aka Kabir Thapa in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani who aimed to live a carefree life.

Ranbir in an interview with journalist Rajeev Masand in 2020 had also hinted of marrying Alia Bhatt in 2020, if pandemic won’t have got the world to a halt.
