It has been a while since one saw Randeep Hooda on the big screen. The actor was last seen playing pivotal role in ‘Baaghi 2’ (2018). Prior to that, the actor gave two years of his life preparing for the role of Havildar Ishar Singh in director Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Battle Of Saragarhi’. After a few portions being filmed, the film, for different reasons, got shelved. Though the actor spent substantial amount of time to prepare for the film and said a ‘no’ to many offers which came his way during this period, he stated that he had no regrets as preparing for the character made him a better person.

This year, though, one will get to see him in multiple projects, the first of which would be Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Love Aaj Kal’. The film, in which Imtiaz Ali revisits the theme of how the basic emotion of love remains the same across different time periods, has Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan playing the lead roles. While not much is known about Randeep’s character, there were reports that he plays ‘love guru’ to Veer (Kartik Aaryan) and helps him win Zoe’s (Sara Ali Khan) heart. Then, there are some other reports stating his role is similar to the one played by Rahul Khanna in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ (2009).

According to a source, the makers want to maintain the secrecy around Randeep’s character as it plays an important part in bringing an interesting turn in the narrative and taking the story forward. That is the reason his character has been kept under wraps. Imtiaz shares a very good equation with Randeep as the two of them have worked together in Highway. Randeep had also played an interesting part in ‘Cocktail’, a film which was co-written by Imtiaz. Imtiaz wanted to make sure the character has enough meat for an actor of Randeep’s character to chew on.

In the trailer, one gets to see a small, blurred glimpse of Randeep. The secrecy around his character in the film has definitely peaked one’s curiosity!
