Go Goa Gone was loved by the audience right after its release on 10th May, 2013. The horror comedy, starring Saif Ali Khan, was the first Zombie film released in India which might not have clicked at the box office but became a cult comedy which is provoking its makers to prepare a sequel. Now. the makers are back and the release date to the sequel just got announced.
Directed by Raj and D.K, who made likable films including like 99, Shor In The City and the web-series, The Family Man, Go Goa Gone tells the story of Hardik (Kunal Khemu), Luv (Vir Das) and Bunny (Anand Tiwari) who travels to Goa to relax. During their stay in Goa, they find out that the place has been infested with Zombies but they get protection from Boris (Saif Ali Khan) who is a zombie slayer.
After 7 years of its release, Maddock films and Eros International have announced the sequel to Go Goa Gone which is slated to release in March 2021 and the shooting will begin from September 2020. The sequel will kick off from where the first part ended. Says Dineh Vijan from Maddock films “It’s been quite a journey from 2013, and I’m so excited we’re back again with this crazy ride! ‘Go Goa Gone’ redefined many things, and we are gunning to do that again. The characters have stayed with us all this while and we are thrilled to bring them back to life. Sunil and I have had a great partnership and I’m excited to be back together especially for this film. We are finishing the final draft and we should roll by September 2020,”
The old cast will reprise their role while the film will be full of wacky content with a controlled budget. Raj and D.K said that planning is in nascent stage and will keep their fans posted on any updates on the sequel.
