Chelsea Flower Show's final BBC episode has been rescheduled for Sunday 31st May at 5.50pm on BBC One, it has been confirmed.
The final instalment of The Best of RHS Chelsea Flower Show was due to air on Sunday 24th May at 5.50pm with Sophie Raworth and Joe Swift, however at the last minute, it was replaced by extended news coverage.
The Coronavirus Daily Update: BBC News Special was extended with a focus on the government's latest briefing and the Dominic Cummings claims. As a result, Best of RHS Chelsea was removed from the schedule, with Garden Rescue airing later than planned.
At the time of its cancellation – which caused much disappointment for many viewers– a reschedule date had not been announced, but it is now set to go ahead this coming Sunday.
The final instalment focuses on the public's favourite gardens, plants and personalities, with a look at how the Queen and other members of the royal family have been involved over the years, plus the much-anticipated reveal of the BBC/RHS People's Choice Garden of the Decade winner.
The week-long BBC coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show has been fronted by Sophie and Joe, as well as Monty Don and Nicki Chapman. Nicki hosted Your Chelsea Flower Show programmes during the daytime on BBC One, while Monty and Joe presented The Best of RHS Chelsea Flower Show on BBC Two in the evenings.
While RHS Chelsea was cancelled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the most prestigious flower show went online, with the RHS launching the Virtual Chelsea Flower Show.
BBC's schedule was a week of celebration, advice and inspiration, and for many, brought the joy and escapism of gardening to the nation's TV screens as households remain under lockdown.
