Ritwik Ghatak, Uday Shankar's films to be screened at IFFI's restored Indian Classics section

New Delhi, Nov 7 (PTI) 'A River Called Titas', directed by legendary Ritwik Ghatak, and noted dancer Uday Shankar's 'Kalpana' are set to be screened at the 50th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) under the restored Indian Classics section.

Ghatak's 1973 film 'Titas Ekti Nodir Naam' (A River Called Titas) and Shankar's 1948 musical 'Kalpana' will be presented on November 23 and 24, respectively.

These films have been restored by Film Foundation, founded by American filmmaking icon Martin Scorsese, a press release said.

The golden jubilee edition of the nine-day movie gala will also focus on women directors. There are 50 women director's films that will be screened at IFFI.

IFFI, to be held in Goa, will run through November 20-28. PTI RDSRDS
