Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, renowned actress and wife of Amitabh Bachchan, has assets worth Rs 1000 crore that make her probably the richest Member of Parliament (MP). This is is Jaya’s third term as a Samajwadi Party MP from the state of Uttar Pradesh. Jaya filed her nomination as an SP candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls and hence, as a part of the procedure, she declared all the assets owned by her and Amitabh. Here’s a breakdown according to the affidavit submitted by her at the time of filing the nomination:
Rs 460 crore, which is over thrice of the Rs 152 crore they owned in 2012
Rs 540 crore. The value was around Rs 343 crore in 2012
Gold and Jewelry – Rs 62 crore
12 vehicles, which include a Rolls-Royce, three Mercedes, a Porsche and a Range Rover, a Tata Nano and a tractor – Over Rs 13 crore

A pen (possessed by Amitabh) – Rs 9 lakh
Besides, there is a 3,175 sqm residential property in Brignogan Plage in France, properties in Noida, Bhopal, Pune, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
Jaya owns a 1.22 hectare agricultural plot worth Rs 2.2 crore in Kakori area of Lucknow. Amitabh owns a 3 acre plot worth Rs 5.7 crore in Daulatpur area of Barabanki district.
With all this, Jaya has raced ahead of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ravindra Kishore Sinha who declared assets worth Rs 800 crore in 2014 when he entered the upper House.
Jaya was first elected to the Upper House by the Samajwadi Party in 2004 till March 2006. She got a second term from June 2006 and was re-elected in 2012 for the third term. Her third term comes to an end on April 3.
