Former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas left his fans, friends and co-stars in awe when he made an unexpected appearance at Jennifer Lopez’s lavish birthday celebrations in Miami, Florida this week.

In photographs and videos he posted from the party on Instagram, the 35-year-old can be seen rubbing shoulders with DJ Khaled, record producer L.A. Reid and Lopez herself as they danced behind a DJ booth.

Dressed in a crisp white shirt, black trousers and a metallic tie, Thomas also enjoyed fireworks and a tableside sing-song with American rapper Fat Joe.

Other guests included Ashanti, Ryan Seacrest, singers Gloria and Emilio Estefan and Lopez’s fiancé, retired baseball player Alex Rodriguez.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner presumably managed to bag an invite to the star-studded bash because he’s close friends with PrettyLittleThing’s Umar Kamani, who hosted the shindig at the Estefan's private estate on Star Island on Wednesday 24 July.

But that hasn’t stopped his pals from teasing him online. Thomas’s Corrie co-star Brooke Vincent posted several laughing face emojis underneath his social media post about the event, while Sally Dynevor put: “Just wow.”

Rugby player George Burgess wrote: “Get where water can’t, you lad,” as last year’s Love Island contestant Gabby Allen commented: “What the hell!!! Hahahahah.”

“How on Earth did Jason Grimshaw end up at J.Lo’s party,” someone joked.

Others were a little kinder though, as fans took his page to call him “Hollywood” and an “A lister.”

“From humble beginnings to super star,” another wrote. “Well done, kiddo.”

Talking about the lavish party to Extra, Gloria Estefan said: “It was a great time she was so happy, so many friends, we were so proud. She looks hot, her family was there, her daughter was there, she sang for her.

“It was really beautiful, it was special.”
