Sachin Tendulkar Hospitalised 6 Days After Testing Positive For COVID-19; Tweets, 'Hope To Be Back Home'

Just a week ago, legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar tested positive for COVID-19. He informed through his Twitter handle that he tested positive despite taking all the recommended precautions while his family has tested negative and he has quarantined himself. However, he once again shared a tweet on his micro-blogging site, mentioning that he has now been hospitalised and hopes to be back home in a few days. His tweet read, ‘Thank you for your wishes and prayers. As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone.”


The cricketer who was part of India's historic World Cup win in 2011, also wished his teammates on the 10th anniversary of the victory today on the same tweet by writing, “Wishing all Indians & my teammates on the 10th anniversary of our World Cup win.” Soon after, fans started pouring in 'get well soon' messages on the comment section. One fan commented, "Get well soon Sir. You are a champion. We can't see you in hospital, please take care, get well soon. We were delighted to see you on the field in the Legend series. Lots of wishes. Jai Mata Di " while another said, "Hospital our wishes and prayers are with you my idol @sachin_rt sir. Please take care and stay safe." There were many who were also sharing pictures of India's historic World Cup win in 2011 while wishing him the same.


Informing about his positive results to his fans, he said, “I have been testing myself and taking all the recommended precautions to ensure COVID is kept at bay. However, I’ve tested positive today following mild symptoms. All others at home have tested negative. I’ve quarantined myself at home and am following all the necessary protocols as advised by my doctors. I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who are supporting me and many others across the country. Take care of all of you.”
