The music director Raam Laxman of one of the iconic films back in the 90s, Hum Aapke Hain Koun starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit, left for his heavenly abode at the age of 78 on Saturday. According to a report in Indian Express, Laxman breathed his last in the early hours of Saturday due to a heart attack at his residence in Nagpur. His son Amar told the portal about his tragic demise. He even mentioned that he took both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine following which he was feeling very weak and fatigued.
He was quoted saying, “My father passed away at 2:00 am on Saturday. He died due to a heart attack. He got the second jab of Covid-19 vaccine a few days ago, following which he was feeling very weak and fatigued, and a doctor was treating him for that.” Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar mourned his death and expresses her grief on her Twitter account. She tweeted, “Mujhe abhi pata chala ki bahut guni aur lokpriya sangeetkar Ram Laxman ji (Vijay Patil) ji ka swargwas hua. Ye sunke mujhe bahut dukh hua. Wo bahut acche insaan the. Maine unke kai gaane gaaye jo bahut lokpriya hue. Main unko vinamra shraddhanjali arpan karti hun.” (I just came to know that a very talented and everyone’s beloved music director Ram Laxman has passed away. I’m heartbroken to hear the news. He was a good man. I have sung plenty of songs for him which became popular. My heartfelt condolence)
Even Rajshri Production house penned a heartfelt tribute for Laxman and wrote, “Music Composer Vijay Patil a.k.a Laxman of the iconic #RaamLaxman duo passed away. Our deepest condolences to his family in this tough time. Rajshri will always remember him for his immense contribution to the music industry. May his soul Rest In Peace.”
Raam Laxman has composed music for hit films like Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Saath Saath Hai, Patthar Ke Phool and many more. May his soul rest in peace.
