12 Feb 2021: Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt to clash on action-thriller, 'Bullet Train'

A clash of Hollywood biggies Sandra Bullock and Brad Pitt is imminent now.

The two Academy award winning stars will be working alongside a slew of other prominent Hollywood names in the action-thriller, Bullet Train.

The other big names associated with this venture are Lady Gaga, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Logan Lerman, Michael Shannon, Zazie Beetz, Masi Oka and Andrew Koji.

About: 'Deadpool 2' helmer David Leitch is directing the film

This is a film adaptation of popular Japanese novel Maria Beetle by bestselling author Kotaro Isaka.

The book was first published in 2010 and will be published again with the film's title by British company Harvill Secker this March.

David Leitch of Hobbs and Shaw and Deadpool 2 fame is directing the movie. He's also set to helm Will Smith starrer Fast & Loose.

Trivia: Bullock, Pitt are working together for the first time

This will be the first time Bullock and Pitt would be teaming up.

She did act in Ocean's Eight, the female-led spin-off of Pitt's Ocean's Eleven franchise, but they have never crossed paths on-screen.

So this association of the two Oscar winners- Pitt won for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, while Bullock bagged for The Blind Side- is expected to be fireworks-y.

Story: Common mission? Script deals with assassins on a train

Maria Beetle has a storyline with the reputation of absurdity and suspense.

The novel revolves around assassins who happen to board the same bullet train from Tokyo.

The journey has few stops and each character finds that his/her mission deals with the other assassins who are already inside the train.

As of now, there's no confirmation over which characters Pitt and Bullock will play.

Other outings: Bullock wraps untitled drama shoot, Pitt plays 'catch' with McConaughey

Bullock's last celluloid outing was Bird Box (2018). She has recently completed shooting for an untitled drama based on 2009 miniseries Unforgiven.

Directed by Nora Fingscheidt (System Crasher), it's been written by Christopher McQuarrie (MI-Fallout).

On Pitt's side of events, the star was recently seen in an Instagram video by actor-friend Matthew McConaughey playing 'catch' from opposite balconies and celebrating Super Bowl Sunday.
