Sarah Silverman and Mark Ruffalo are among the celebrities who have appeared nude in a video highlighting “naked ballot” laws.

In the US, naked ballot laws apply to voters in 16 states who must take extra precautions to ensure that their ballots are valid. Affected voters are required to place their mail-in ballots in two different envelopes – one inside of the other and in a specific order – for their vote to be counted.

In a new video focused on voting rights, celebrities including Silverman, Ruffalo, Tiffany Haddish, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Naomi Campbell and Josh Gad appear naked while urging voters to closely read the instructions that come on their mail ballot.

“If you don’t do exactly as I tell you, then your ballot could get thrown out,” says Silverman.

The nude celebrities talk through other instructions people must follow when voting by mail, including using the correct colour pen.

The PSA was created by RepresentUs, a nonpartisan organisation focused on voting rights. Its release comes ahead of the forthcoming US election on 3 November.
