Second Day Box Office Report – Both Sui Dhaaga And Pataakha Grows Wells

The Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga and Vishal Bhardawaj directed Pataakha grew well on Saturday at the box office across India.

Directed by Sharat Katariya, who earlier made the sleeper hit Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, Sui Dhaga is produced by Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The reviews of Sui Dhaaga has been good and the family drama showed the occupancy of 20-25 % in the morning shows and picked up in the evening and night shows collecting Rs 8.30 crores on its first day. The collections were good on Saturday as the occupancy ranged from 40-50% by night shows. As per early trend, Sui Dhaaga should earn somewhere close to Rs 11-12 crores on its second day at the ticket window (Final numbers to be updated) bringing the total collections to Rs 19.30-20.30 crores. The budget of Sui Dhaaga is Rs 50 Crores all inclusive of prints and advertising cost (Production Cost: Rs 40 Crores, Prints & Advertising Cost: Rs 10 Crores)

Sui Dhaaga faced some competition from Vishal Bhardwaj directed Pataakha for which the reviews have been equally good. The Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan and Sunil Grover starrer opened to 10-15% occupancy in the morning shows and picked up slightly towards the evening and night shows collecting Rs 90 lakhs on its first day. The earnings were better on Saturday and as per early trend, Pataakha seems to mint Rs 1.50 crores (final numbers to be updated) and bring over all collections to Rs 2.40 crores. The budget of Pataakha is Rs 20 crores (Production Cost: 12 Crores, Prints & Advertising Cost: 8 Crores)
