While Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Dream Girl showed a staggering growth, Akshaye Khanna starrer Section 375 gathers steam at the box office on the second day.
The Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl is creating an amazing impact at the box office as the comedy drama opened to a fabulous response followed by a solid growth on the second day.
After giving solid hit in form of Article 15, Ayushmann Khurrana is back with his second film, Dream Girl which has a fresh star cast with Nushrat Barucha, who is also returning from giving the super hit, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, and Annu Kapoor, who collaborate with Ayushmann in his first film Vicky Donor.
Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl got appreciated by both critics and audience and opened to an occupancy of 30% in the morning shows across India. The collections picked up in the evening and the night shows and managed to get a double digit opening of Rs 10.05 crore, beating Badhaai Ho which was the previous highest opener for Ayushman Khurrana with Rs 7.3 Crore. The earnings grew by 65% on the second day with Rs 16.42 croress, bringing the two days total to Rs 26.47 and would be crossing the budget which is 30 Crore (Production Cost: 20 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: 10 Crore)
Directed by Ajay Bahl, who earlier made B.A Pass, Section 375 got better reviews than Dream Girl. Unfortunately, the previous week’s superstar, Chhichhore, and Dream Girl is posing a solid competition which has impacted its collections at the ticket window.
Section 375 opened to a dull response on the first day and collected between Rs 1.45 crore on its first day but showed an amazing growth by 112% on the second day with Rs 3.07 crore, bringing the total collections to Rs 4.52 crore. Sunday should be good as the word of mouth is superb and bringing in more footfalls to the multiplexes.
