Shah Rukh’s Next to Be a Comic-Action Thriller by Raj & DK?

Shah Rukh Khan was last seen on the big screen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero. Since then speculations were rife as to what his next project will be. Now, according to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the superstar has finalised his next project, a big budget comic-action thriller directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.

A source close to the development told the publication that the directors had narrated the script to Shah Rukh some time back and he loved it. “The action film will be replete with Raj and DK’s quirky humour. The yet-to-be-titled film will go on floors next year and this is a space that SRK hasn’t explored yet.”

The movie will be produced by Shah Rukh Khan himself and it will be shot in both Indian and international locations. “Raj and DK and in the process of finishing the script. An international stunt crew will be brought on board for the action sequences. Once the script is in place, the directors will begin their hunt for the ensemble cast,” the source says, adding that the movie is scheduled to hit theatres in 2021. “Apart from this film, he has another one in his kitty, which is a feel-good drama.”

Trade analyst Komal Nahta also told Mumbai Mirror that the project with Shah Rukh Khan and Raj and DK is definitely on the cards.

Earlier, reports about Shah Rukh collaborating with Rajkumar Hirani were also floating around. “Shah Rukh Khan has been approached by three directors, Atlee, Rajkumar Hirani and Ali Abbas Zafar. He loved all the scripts and will be working on them. However, Hirani has already locked Shah Rukh’s dates and the shooting will start from April 2020,” a source had told Pinkvilla.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh recently shot a cameo for Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer Brahmastra.
