This week we see the release of another content driven cinema, The Sky Is Pink, which marks the comeback of Priyanka Chopra to Bollywood post marriage and she will be supported by Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.
Directed by Shonali Bose The Sky Is Pink is based on a novel of same name. 2 years back around same time, Shoojit Sircar gave us an experimental film, October, starring Varun Dhawan. The Sky Is Pink is based on a similar theme for which the trailer has already garnered 30 million views. While the star cast, including Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim looks good, the plot of the film seems interesting which makes the movie an interesting watch.
While Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer WAR had shattered all the box office records, it is still going strong in both mass and urban centers and will pose a great threat to The Sky Is Pink.
Another disadvantage of The Sky Is Pink is that none of songs are chart bursting. The promotion for the family drama is low here and it will complete depend upon the word of mouth reviews.
As per our analysis, The Sky Is Pink should open somewhere between Rs 3-4 crore and will completely depend upon the word of mouth reviews to make impact at the box office. The Sky Is Pink is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur under the RSVP banner and Priyanka Chopra.
